CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija -- A 49-year-old driver was killed while 13 people were arrested in a series of anti-illegal drugs operations Friday in various parts of Nueva Ecija, police reported.
Senior Supt. Leon Victor Rosete, director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), said on Saturday that Joseph Santos, resident of Poblacion Sur, Talavera, this province died during an exchange of fire with policemen in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sampaloc of said municipality at 4: 35 a.m.
Rosete said forensic investigators reportedly recovered one .38-caliber revolver, three sachets of suspected shabu and the PHP500 marked money from the suspect’s body.
He also said that those arrested in separate anti-drug stings were Michael Gonzales, 28; Michael Pili,27; Justin Parungao, 21; all of San Antonio town; Chiquito Galang, 40, of Palomaria, Bongabon; Dante Elloren, 40, of Bacal 1, Talavera; Felix Danzalan Jr., of Barangay Partida 1, Guimba; Harold Rivera, 27, of Poblacion North, Science City of Munoz; Rodelio Servania, 39, of Barangay Latap, Cuyapo; Robin Parfan, 27; Julius Crisostomo, 43; Bren Hermano, 25, all of Aliaga town; Eduardo Sagun Sr., 39, of Calaocan District, Rizal; and Jaypee Ariel, 33, of Kabulihan, Gen. Natividad, Nueva Ecija.
Reports showed that all the suspects yielded sachets of suspected shabu and marked bills used in the buy bust.
The suspects are now facing charges of violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165. (PNA)
