12 ALLEGED DRUG PUSHERS NABBED IN MAKATI
MAKATI CITY – The Makati City government reported the police arrested 12 suspected drug pushers following a buy bust operation in Brgy. Bangkal.
The Makati Police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), apprehended these suspects and recovered 23 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P200,000.
According to Police Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon, Makati Police chief, the operation took place yesterday at 7:30 p.m. in Mascardo St.
The police was able to recovered a plastic sacet of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a weighing scale, cellphones and marked money.
Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay commended the police for strengthening its operations against illegal drugs in the city.
Binay reiterated that Makati City has imposed a zero-tolerance policy on criminality, especially illegal drugs.
Last week, the police nabbed 44 crime suspects and 284 violators of city ordinances in its all-out anti-crime drive.
These recent operations led to the arrest of eight suspects who were caught buying and selling shabu, carrying illegal drug paraphernalia, and engaging in a pot session.
All of them have been referred for Inquest at the Makati City Prosecutors Office and cases for Violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act have been filed against them.
The police also reported 284 apprehensions for violations of city ordinances and that 134 minors were rescued for curfew violations and 10 were arrested and charged for drinking in public.
