BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Two persons died when a car side swept the tricycle they were riding along the Roman Highway here Monday morning.
Lt. Colonel Eduardo Guevara, Jr., Balanga police chief, identified the victims as tricycle driver Rodolfo Ebasan and his passenger Gerardo dela Cruz.
Ebasan died on the spot while dela Cruz was declared dead on arrival at the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.
Report showed the tricycle was heading to this city from south when the car overtook but hit it, causing the tricycle to be thrown off the side of the bridge in Barangay Cataning here.
The driver was thrown out of his tricycle and his head hit the pavement, causing his instantaneous death.
The tricycle was heavily damaged while the car incurred damages on its hood, fenders and front bumper.
The car fell on a canal being constructed along the highway after hitting the tricycle.
The car driver, Fire Inspector Arvin Janolo of the Bureau of Fire Protection of Mariveles town, is now facing a case of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to properties and double homicide, police said. (PNA)
