2 DRUG SUSPECTS FALL IN MAGUINDANAO, P15K SHABU SEIZED
COTABATO CITY -- Police arrested two drug suspects in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, on Sunday evening, confiscating a total of PHP15,000 worth of "shabu."
Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares, director of Police Regional Office – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified those arrested as Amirudin Ali, 33, a construction worker, and Rasul Calibungan, 36, both of Barangay Dumalangcob, Sultan Kudarat.
Quoting a report from the Sultan Kudarat police, Mijares said Ali was first collared in a drug buy-bust operation in Dumalangcob village around 7 p.m.
Recovered from Ali were three sachets of shabu with a street value of PHP10,000, a disposable lighter, and the PHP500 marked money.
“Ali pointed to police his cohort Calibungan who was also arrested in a follow-up operation,” Mijares said.
Seized from Calibungan’s possession were two sachets of shabu estimated to be worth PHP5,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against the suspects, now locked up at the Sultan Kudarat town police station. (PNA)
