2 MINORS RESCUED IN SULTAN KUDARAN DRUG BUST, 4 OTHERS NABBED
TACURONG CITY, Sultan Kudarat— Anti-narcotics operatives dismantled an illegal drug den and arrested six persons, including two minors, during operations in Barangay New Isabela here Wednesday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12 (Soccsksargen) said.
Naravy Duquiatan, PDEA-12 Director, led the operation along with Supt. Joefel Siason, Tacurong City police director. Arrested during the 11:30 p.m. drug buy-bust operation was Arnold Posadas, a target-listed drug personality. He was quickly handcuffed after handing over PHP500 worth of illegal drugs to a poseur-buyer.
Duquiatan said Posadas had surrendered to authorities in 2017 but failed to attend the activities of the community-based rehabilitation program in his barangay. He added that the suspect continued with his illegal drug activities, using his residence as a drug den.
The operating units also arrested Wilfredo Depalubos, 25, the alleged drug den operator, Edmor Edjec, 44, of Digos City and King Roger Castillanes of Tacurong City who were reportedly holding a pot session in Posadas’ residence.
“Two minors, 13 and 15 years old, were also brought to the police office but were later turned over to the city social welfare office,” Duquiatan said.
Seized from the suspects were two medium-sized sachets of shabu with street value of PHP68,000 and other illegal drug paraphernalia.
Adult suspects were brought to the PDEA-12 detention facility in General Santos City. Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against them. (PNA)
