CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Police authorities arrested on Thursday two suspects who admitted responsibility for the gruesome killing of a mother and her two sons in the City of San Jose del Monte (CSJDM), this province Wednesday night.
Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police commander, identified the suspects as Wilson Nosal, 23, single, a native of Norzagaray town, and Joselito Cortez, 48, single, a resident of Area D, Barangay Terona in Cavite.
Bersaluna said follow-up operations led to the arrest of the two suspects who owned up to the killing of Jaymee Casabuena, 28, and sons Anton Gabriel, 8, and Joaquin Mateo, 4, who are residents of Block 32, Lot 57, Carissa Phase 2A, Barangay Kaypian, CSJDM.
Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., CSJDM chief of police, said Nosal was arrested in Barangay 185, Malaria, Caloocan City while Cortez was nabbed in Barangay San Manuel, CSJDM.
“The bloodied clothes of the suspects, who are part-time garbage collectors, were also recovered,” he added.
Castil said the suspects claimed robbery was their motive but the victims resisted, thus, they stabbed them, leading to their death.
He said they are also not discounting the possibility that the mother was raped and they are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm it.
Investigation showed that the bodies of the victims were found inside their house at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday by relatives who decided to visit them when the mother victim failed to reply to their text messages.
The mother was found in the living room while her four-year-old son was found in the kitchen and the eight-year-old in the bedroom.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects who are now temporarily detained at the city jail. (PNA)
