6 CHILDREN AND 1 PREGNANT WOUNDED IN ISULAN BLAST
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 revealed the CCTV footages on how the suspect executed to bomb Isulan, Sultan Kudarat around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. Around 18 people were injured in the explosion; among them were six children and a pregnant mother.
Wearing a face mask, white jacket, and carrying plastic bags; the suspect pretended as a customer. Based on the video footage, he entered the restaurant then placed the plastic bags under the table. After that, the suspect got out of the place.
According to the Police Brigadier General Eliseo Tam Rasco, PRO 12 Regional Director, it was possible that the bombing occurred because of a failed extortion after the owner received a letter demanding P50,000 monthly extortion money five days before the explosion.
Rasco said that the suspect placed the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) under the table inside the restaurant but a waiter run after him to give the plastic bag he left. That is the reason the suspect put the IED outside.
The investigators recovered some parts of the IED after the explosion including cellphone, battery, bomb container and concrete nails used as shrapnel.
Isulan town Mayor Maritess Pallasigue said they have identified the suspect but would not disclose it at the moment due to the ongoing investigation.
