BACOLOD CITY — Eighty-two agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental received their certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) and were subsequently installed on Tuesday.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Negros Occidental I facilitated the distribution of land titles and the installation rites for the landholdings in Barangays Nanca and Alacaygan.

The beneficiaries will share the 54.2106-hectare combined aggregated properties of Sabina Alpha Corporation and Wayne Forte, among others, which are located in the two villages.

Of the area covered, 32.9385 hectares were previously owned by Sabina Alpha Corporation to be shared by 49 ARBs.

The other 21.2721 hectares that used to belong to Wayne Forte and other owners will be shared by the 33 farmer-beneficiaries.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Tessie Pedrosa discussed with the farmers their rights and obligations as ARBs.

According to DAR-Negros Occidental I, a credit support of PHP1.1 million through the Agrarian Production Credit Program is now being processed for the farmer-members of Dalinson Farmworkers Association, who are among the beneficiaries.

The amount will be used for the cultivation of their 18.5644-hectare land for sugarcane production.

Last October 30, the DAR-Negros Occidental I also distributed CLOAs and installed 49 farmer-beneficiaries in Cadiz City.

The recipients shared the 19.5403-hectare property at Hacienda Valencia in Barangay Burgos, which was previously owned by Melissa Abelido. (PNA)
