ALASKA ELIMINATES SMB WITH QF ROUT
MANILA -- Alaska nailed the third seat in the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals after ousting San Miguel, 96-85, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City Wednesday night.
The Aces pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Beermen, 21-7, en route to the rout.
Mike Harris made 25 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, and one steal for Alaska, which will take on the winner of the Meralco-Phoenix series in the next round. Meralco forced a deciding game after a 90-74 rout of Phoenix earlier.
Simon Enciso added 15 points and three assists.
Kevin Murphy tallied 19 markers, eight boards, and five dimes for SMB.
Chris Standhardinger chipped 18 markers, 11 boards, one block, and a steal in the final game of what has been a colorful rookie season. (PNA)
