ALBANO LAUDS HONASAN’S APPOINTMENT AS DICT SEC
Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano III on Sunday praised President Rodrigo Duterte for appointing Sen. Gregoria Honasan as Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Albano, who served as majority leader of the House of Representatives' contingent to the Commission on Appointments, said he believes Honasan is very much qualified for the job given his background as a military officer who received a lot of communications, and as legislator who took active part in deliberations on various laws that affect the information and communications sector.
"The President did the right in appointing a veteran legislator instead of a technical man," Albano said.
"Having served in the Senate for more than 10 years, Honasan knows the people's need for efficient and reasonably priced telecommunications services," added Albano, predicting that Honasan will breeze through the confirmation process at the CA.
Albano stressed that Honasan's dedication, determination and focus on whatever job is at hand will make him most qualified for the position.
Albano said Honasan is "the people's best hope to straighten out the policies that govern the ICT industry and make telecommunications companies provide better service at more reasonable rates."
