An allegedly Chinese dredging vessel was spotted in Lobo, Batangas last Thursday, March 28.

Residents were scared that the vessel might drop illegal drugs or its stop over might harm them.

The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Lobo police and Philippine Coast Guard went to confront the ship.

According to Lobo police, the crews of the ship got the wrong coordinates. There were no detected activities or things being uncluttered in the vessel.

Authorities urged the vessel to leave but it just moved a little bit farther. It is said the ship does not mayor’s permit to dredge in the place.

The vessel has not left the province yet so residents together with the local government monitor its activity.
