‘AMANG’-AFFECTED FAMILIES IN CARAGA NOW AT 1.5K
MANILA -- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), announced that the low pressure area (formerly Tropical Depression Amang) has so far affected 1,501 families or around 5,904 persons residing in 44 barangays of the Caraga Region.
The update released at 6 a.m. Wednesday, which was signed and released by NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, said 1,232 families which is equivalent to 4,521 individuals are being aided in two evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC also reported that four domestic flights were cancelled due to the effects of the low pressure area.
Only 146 passengers, one ship and one motor banca were reported stranded in Western Visayas and Bicol Region.
The number of families preemptively evacuated are placed at 5,256 families or 21,006 persons in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Compostela Valley, Agusan Del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur.
