BACOLAODIAT LANTERN CONTEST FOR STUDENTS NOW OPEN
BACOLOD City – Organizers of the 14th Bacolaodiat Festival, Bacolod’s celebration of the Chinese New Year, are calling all interested students to join its Lighted Giant Pig Lantern Contest.
A press statement from the organizing committee said the contest is open to groups of high school students, college students, and those taking vocational courses (TESDA accredited) in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.
The group of school-based artists must have a recommendation from the principal, or head of the institution.
However, if the group decides not to carry the name of the school, all members must be certified bona fide students and will need to have certification from the school that members are currently enrolled in the school.
All members of the group must come from the same school.
Participants must fill in the registration forms available at the Bacolaodiat Festival office, with attached copy of the design with proper materials, measurement, and details, endorsement letter from the school of the school or the certification that members are enrolled, photocopy of valid school ID with photo.
All entries must have a minimum length of 6 feet, minimum height of 6 feet and a base proportioned to desired specifications, but the base must have a minimum height of 2 feet.
Lanterns should be well- lighted, weather-proof, and can stand extreme weather conditions as these will be displayed outdoors.
There will be a financial assistance of P5,000 to be given to the first eight (8) participants who can submit to the Bacoloadiat Fedtival office the complete registration and required attachments on or before the deadline on January 19 at 6 p.m.
