‘BIG-TIME’ MARIJUANA PUSHER NABBED IN DAVAO SUR
DAVAO CITY -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao del Sur arrested a suspected big-time marijuana pusher during Sunday's buy-bust operation conducted in Hagonoy town.
Antonio Rivera, PDEA-11 director, said the operation resulted in the arrest of Joynel Udaquin Solmero alias Joy-Joy, 34, a resident of Purok 6, Sugbong, Barangay San Isidro, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur.
Solmero was arrested in his residence for allegedly selling a rolled marijuana wrapped in a newspaper, weighing around 200 grams and worth PHP1,000 to a PDEA agent acting as poseur-buyer.
Rivera said another three big rolls of suspected marijuana leaves weighing around 6,000 grams with a street value of PHP720,000, as well as assorted drug paraphernalia, a .38-caliber revolver with live ammunition, and the buy-bust marked money bill were also recovered during the operation.
Solmero is now detained at the PDEA-11 detention facility while the suspected illegal drugs were submitted to the PDEA laboratory service.
Rivera said Solmero will be charged with violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Law onFirearms and Ammunition. (PNA)
