CALOOCAN CITY – The Caloocan City government has clinched another commendation from the government for continuously ensuring the wellbeing of the city hall employees.
The city government said that its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was named first runner-up in the 2017 Regional Search for Best PESO for its significant contribution and outstanding accomplishments in the deployment of employment facilitation programs initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
In August, Caloocan City outmatched 15 other cities and one municipality in Metro Manila and won the National Kabalikat Award for the National Capital Region which was given by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan vowed to provide programs and services related to workforce development.
In line with this objective, the Caloocan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) conducted a Vehicular Extrication Training for its employees.
According to CCDRRMO head James Lao, the training, held at Marulas A Elementary School’s covered court, was conducted for employees to gain knowledge and skills in case of emergency.
With the new power tools in hand, trained workers will be having an easy time to handle some accidents that might come and will have a better way to serve the people.
“Our City Government led by Mayor Oscar Malapitan always provides necessary trainings to help equip our employees with new set of knowledge and skills in terms of emergencies and disaster risk reduction,” Lao said.
