More than 700 barangay workers of Mandaue City received cash incentives from the Cebu Provincial Government led by Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

A total of P1.259 million were distributed to the barangay health workers (BHWs), barangay animal health aide (BAHAs), nutrition scholars (BNS), barangay tanods, daycare workers (DCW), and lupon tagapamayapa from the 27 barangays of Mandaue, according to a report posted on cebu.gov.ph.

All the BHWs, BAHAs and DCWs received P2,400 each, while tanods and lupons each got P1,500.

Mandaue Vice Mayor Carlo Pontico Fortuna and lawyer Baldomero Estenzo were also present during the ceremonial distribution at the Ibabao-Estancia gym.

Fortuna said the governor and vice governor never failed to fulfil their promise to provide cash incentive to the barangay workers of Mandaue.

In her speech, Magpale told the village workers that this is the time that Cebu Provincial Government can personally thank the barangay frontliners one by one.

The vice governor also informed them that the Provincial Government is planning to increase their cash incentive next year.

“Expect next year that you will have a better increase (on your cash incentive),” said Magpale.

Davide thanked the barangay workers for the services they provided to the community.

After their speeches, the governor and vice governor handed over the cash to the barangay workers as part of the ceremonial distribution.

Ibabao-Estancia Barangay Capt.Romulo Echavez Jr. thanked Davide and Magpale for the cash incentives given by the Capitol.
