CEBU COUNCIL ENDORSES P57.7B IN INFRA PROJECTS TO RDC-7
THE executive committee of the Cebu Provincial Development Council (PDC) chaired by Gov. Hilario P. Davide III has approved and endorsed the P57.771 billion worth of Programs, Activities, and Projects from the national government agencies (NGA) and state universities and college for 2020 to the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7.
The approval and endorsement of the Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPS) were made during the PDC executive committee’s full council meeting on Friday, Jan. 25, held at the Capitol Social Hall.
Of the amount, at least P45.279 billion are for infrastructure projects under the Department of Public Works and Highways 7.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development presented a proposed amount of P6.4 billion for their PAPS; the Department of Health with P5 billion; and Cebu Normal University with P12 million.
At least P349 million proposed allocation was for the environment and natural resources, while P402 million will be used for economic development.
Rodel Bontuyan, Provincial Planning and Development Office chief and PDC Secretariat assistant head, said these proposed PAPS will be endorsed to the RDC for its approval.
The PDC’s executive committee is composed of representatives from the League of Municipalities, Association of Barangay Councils, civil society organizations, and NGAs.
Mayors Teresa Alegado of Consolacion, Aly Arquillano of San Francisco, Beatriz Caburnay of Alcantara, Merlou Derama of Boljoon, Verna Magallon of Alegria, Luciano Rama of Poro, Erwin Yu of Tudela, Jeremias Aguilar of Barili, Vice Mayor Gremar Solante of Tudela and Provincial Board Member Christoper Baricuatro.
