ILOILO CITY Mayor Jose Espinosa III turned over Personnel Protective Equipment for eco-friendly initiatives to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) on Feb. 26.
A total of 1,672 equipment worth P500,000 will be distributed to CENRO, General Services Office, and Beautification Program to maintain plazas, Iloilo River, and city-run public cemeteries.
These include 205 raincoats, 210 pairs of rubber boots, 10 orange lifejackets, 10 plastic masks, 200 meters #18 nylon rope, 50 kilos of 3/4" nylon rope, 25 pairs of leather gloves for welding, two sets of first aid kit, 700 meters of 3/4 plastic garden hose, four pieces harness safety belts, three pieces of diving suit, 210 green long-sleeved shirts for construction with orange reflector, 20 pieces of green hard hats, and three pieces of eye goggles for swimming.
“I would like to thank everyone for making our city beautiful. Let us unite and make our city more productive and progressive. We are one for a clean and green Iloilo City,” Espinosa said.
CENRO Assistant Department Head Cristina Octavio said the gears will be a big help to ensure the cleanliness of the metropolis.
“With these equipment, our personnel will be able to sustain and beautify our plazas, river, Esplanade, and the entire city. We also call on public to help us by sharing advocacy awareness and practicing discipline in proper garbage disposal,” Octavio added.
