COMELEC HOLDS VOTE COUNTING MACHINE DEMO IN PANGASINAN
DAGUPAN CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) provincial office in Pangasinan will conduct on Saturday demonstration on the use of the vote counting machine (VCM) in universities of the province.
Provincial election supervisor lawyer Alipio Alfonzo Castillo III said they aim to educate as many voters in the province on the proper use of the VCM to “save time” during actual elections on May 13.
He identified the University of Pangasinan PHINMA (Philippine Investment Management Consultants Inc.) Education Network, Pangasinan State University and Virgen Milagrosa University as venues for the public demonstration.
“We are also urging other groups like the media or local government units, if they will request for us to conduct public demo then we will accommodate them,” Castillo said in an interview Friday.
A total of 2,632 VCMs will be used by the 1.946 million voters in Pangasinan in the coming midterm elections. (PNA)
