BALAGTAS, Bulacan — A Metro Manila-based policeman was arrested in this town for indiscriminate firing on Friday.

Chief Insp. Restituto Granil, Balagtas chief of police, identified the arrested police officer as Police Officer 1 Arwin Bornel, assigned at the Northern Police District and detailed at the Valenzuela City Police Station.

Investigation showed that a resident of Northville 6 in Balagtas town reported that the suspect, also a resident of the subdivision, was firing his hand gun indiscriminately for unknown reason.

Balagtas police personnel immediately responded and arrested Bornel and confiscated from his possession a Taurus .45-caliber gun and two magazines loaded with bullets.

“The policeman is now facing charges for illegal discharge of firearm, alarm and scandal and violation of Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition,” Granil added. (PNA)
