COUPLE NABBED FOR SELLING P1.2-M SHABU IN DAVAO CITY

DAVAO CITY – More than PHP1 million worth of shabu was confiscated by elements of the city police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-11 from a couple in a buy-bust operation conducted in the village of Sasa here on Saturday night.

Maj. Reuben Libera, commander of Sasa police station, identified the suspects as Linda Abubacar Laguinsay alias Aunte, 51, and Kasim Laupan Laguinsay, 52, a security guard, both residents of Maharlika Poblacion, Pagalungan, Maguindanao.

Libera said they were apprehended after they sold shabu to a police officer who acted as a poseur buyer.

Two pieces of big sachets containing suspected shabu with a street value of PHP1.2 million were confiscated from the suspects, along with "boodle" money, he added.

Libera said "Aunte" is included in their drug watch list and considered as a "high-value target" (HVT).

"She belonged to the HVT list because she delivered large quantity of drugs and we found out that she delivered it five times to the same person," Libera disclosed.

The suspects are now under the custody of the police while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared for filing in court. (PNA)
