THE Department of Agriculture has approved the proposed rehabilitation and concreting of Bongol-Tambal-Quipot farm-to-market road worth P199.292 million in Janiuay town to be implemented under its Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).

In a letter to DA-6 Regional Director Remelyn Recoter, DA Undersecretary and PRDP National Project Director Engr. Ariel T. Cayanan said the proposed subproject has passed the criteria set by PRDP and is eligible for funding under its additional loan from the World Bank.

DA also issued a “no objection” to the conduct of procurement of works for the abovementioned subproject.

“The feasibility study with safeguards compliance, detailed engineering design, program of works and bidding documents for the said subproject with an estimated project cost of P199,292,000 for evaluation have been found to be in order,” Cayanan said.

The project, which is around 14.280 kilometers, also covers the construction of two bridges. It will benefit around nine barangays. It is scheduled to be completed within 397 days.

Pre-procurement conference will be on February 13, 2019.

The provincial government will share 10 percent of the funding amounting to almost P20 million.

Other ongoing projects in the province under PRDP are Poblacion-Tacuyong Norte Provincial Road in Leon; Imbang Grande-Gemumua-Agahon-Agtabo Provincial Road in Passi City; and Tinucuan-Purog-Maribuyong Provincial Road in Dueñas.

The Parara-Jamog Provincial Road in Tigbauan was already completed.
