DAVAO POLICE READIES SECURITY PLAN FOR ‘MISA DE GALLO’
DAVAO CITY-- The local police is ready to implement its security plan for the nine-day Misa de Gallo (Dawn Mass) starting December 16.
Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief, on Tuesday assured safety and security of the churchgoers for the nine-day dawn masses.
“As I have assured the local residents, we have fully deployed security personnel together with Task Force Davao and other security forces from the Police Regional Office-11,“ Tagum said.
Tagum said DCPO personnel will conduct mobile and bike patrol outside church premises and even in the villages areas to keep thieves at bay.
Tagum said the city's peace and order condition remains excellent that "even reports of pickpocket incidents have lessened."
"But just the same, we would like to assure that we have not lowered down our guard particularly our Joint Task Force that we have created purposely to secure the area," he added.
He said all Pasko Fiesta activities and venues are being covered by five Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams to secure all Christmas activities in the city. (Rhoda Grace Saron/PNA)
