Manila Electric Company (Meralco) clarified on Wednesday that the weekly maintenance they are doing is not connected with the Metro Manila water crisis.
According to Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco Spokesperson, they doing electricity maintenance every week to upgrade their facilities and supply distribution.
He said that Meralco already sent out an advisory both to the media and to the so that the consumers could verify if their resident place is included of the affected areas.
Meralco has been doing the maintenance for more than 30 years. They are ready to provide 24/7 power supply, Zaldarriaga assured.
He further noted that the customers have nothing to worry about.
The company stressed that the range of power interruption is not nationwide and will only run from 30 minutes up to around 8 hours depending on the nature of work. Once the area under maintenance undergoes rehabilitation there will be a long time before it is subjected again to maintenance.
Zaldarriaga said that Meralco usually does maintenance to fix the facilities in certain areas, including relocation and extending new lines. (CHAY ALDAY/LEAGUE ONLINE NEWS)
