QUEZON, Nueva Ecija -- Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go is pushing for term extension of incumbent barangay officials from two to four years.
Go, who graced the Patimyas Ani Festival in this town Sunday, said two years will never be enough for barangay officials to have their programs realized.
“Gagawin po nating four years yan (we will make it four years)," he told village officials present in the festivity.
His pronouncement was received with applause by village officials.
Go said he already has asked President Rodrigo Duterte about this concern.
Meanwhile, Go encouraged Novo Ecijanos to support President Duterte and his programs for the remaining years of his term.
He likewise asked the local officials to intensify the fight against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption in this town.
Go also shared his 12-point legislative agenda, particularly in agriculture, where Nueva Ecija is one of the top rice-producing provinces. (PNA)
