GO LAUDED FOR SUPPORTING QUEZON INFRA PROJECT
QUEZON -- The local government of Quezon thanked former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go for supporting the Southern Quezon Convention Center project as this opens greater opportunities for both the province and the people.
“Convention centers are considered as drivers of the economy because it creates jobs, generates income, and increases tax revenue. Such infrastructure is highly beneficial especially for the communities where they are situated. It attracts visitors, tourists, and investments, which translates to new and greater opportunities for the community,” Go said during his speech at the blessing and inauguration of the Southern Quezon Convention Center on Friday.
Go was invited by Quezon Gov. Jayjay Suarez, Minority Floor Leader Rep. Danilo Suarez, and Alona Partylist Rep. Anna Suarez in the unveiling of the marker that states how the project was completed with the support of the former presidential aide.
Go, who supports the programs and agenda of President Duterte, said the Duterte administration aims to bring development to each and every part of the country for the betterment of the lives of Filipinos.
Go said the Southern Quezon Convention Center will be a huge contribution in the advancement of our nation -- providing new opportunities and growth to the people of Quezon.
“Nais ni Tatay Digong na mapaunlad ang lahat ng bahagi ng Pilipinas at hindi lang ang Metro Manila, kaya nais niyang magkaroon ng mabilis na daloy ng komersyo mula at patungo sa malalayong lugar," he said.
Go, in his speech, also highlighted key infrastructure projects of the Duterte administration that will benefit the people of Quezon.
Among these are the Philippine National Railway (PNR) South Long-Haul project that will make transportation easier from Manila to Southern Luzon and Bicol region, the Quezon-Bicol Expressway project that will offer an alternative route for travellers from Quezon to Bicol, and the Kaliwa Dam Project that will improve water supply in the area.
If elected to senate, Go said he will push for laws that will bring development to every part of the country.
Quality healthcare services for each and every Filipino is also one of his top priorities through the establishment of Malasakit Centers.
"Noong ako ay assistant pa ng ating pangulo, maraming programa ang aking ipinatupad para sa Pilipino. Isa na rito ay ang pagtatatag ng mga Malasakit Centers para matugunan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayang sa kanilang pagpapa-ospital. Nais kong ipagpatuloy ang magandang gawaing ito sa Senado at sisiguruhin ko na makapagpapatayo pa ng mas maraming Malasakit Centers sa buong bansa," Go said.
He added that the Duterte government is planning to put up a Malasakit Center in Quezon province before the year ends.
The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop program of President Duterte to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicine.
A fast lane prioritizing the senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will also be available.
Go added that he aims to legislate laws that will fund the building of sports and development facilities in every local govern unit wherein citizen, especially the youth can avail free sports clinics.
He will also push for the establishment of evacuation centers for every local government unit, so that every Filipino will have a safe place to stay in times of disasters and calamities. (PR)
