GOV’T AGENCIES PRAISE MALABON CITY FOR PROGRAMS AGAINST CRIME, DRUGS
MALABON CITY – Government agencies commended the Malabon City government for its campaigns against crimes and illegal drugs.
The Philippine National Police National (PNP) in the National Capital Region lauded Malabon City for recording the lowest crime rate in the Metro Manila.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recognized the city government for its implementation of and commitment in various anti-drug prevention programs. Also, the agency declared 21 barangays as drug-free workplaces in the city.
“Our safety should always be on top of our priorities. Nagpapasalamat tayo sa lahat ng pagkilala sa efforts natin para panatilihing ligtas ang ating lungsod. Ang tagumpay na ito ay tagumpay ng bawat Pamilyang Malabonian (We are grateful for all the recognition of our efforts to keep our city safe. We dedicate the victory to every family in Malabon),” Malabon City Mayor Antolin Oreta III said.
Meanwhile, the Department of Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) said 13 cities in the metropolis passed its annual financial housekeeping audit.
These are the cities of Mandaluyong, Marikina, Quezon, San Juan, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Las Piñas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, and Pasay.
“We need a collective action (against illegal drugs) with the ADACs to eliminate the problem,” thus the performance audit team is organized and chaired by the DILG with representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and civil society organizations (CSOs) from the regional, provincial and national offices ensuring the integrity of the process and results of the audit, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said.
