MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr made a controversial remark when asked anew about birth certificate requirement for passport renewal in on his Twitter account (@teddyboylocsin).

He made the tweet on Tuesday after a netizen asked about the requirement to bring a copy of birth certificate for passport renewal.

“Sir @teddyboylocsin kailangan pa rin po ba ng birth certificate pag nag parenew ng passport? Salamat po,” the netizen with a Twitter handle @superjoza88 asked the secretary.

The Foreign Affairs chief replied  “Hindi. Putangina. Not for passport renewal. If anyone asks you, tell me who and I will fucking kill him/her.”

DFA issued a department order which removed birth certificate as requirement for passport renewal last January 15, 2019.

Locsin, an active tweeter has been a subject of bashing for his tweets. In 2017 he tweeted on parental obligation to slap their children if they imitate a popular primetime soap actor.

Last January the secretary gained more bashers when he tweeted about a pissed off private contractor that ran off with the DFA’s public data that made a panic scene to Philippine passport renewal applicants.

When someone noticed that he deleted one of his controversial tweets the secretary tweeted back – “I will remember you, you f*** face. Find this guy, and make his life hell.”

A seasoned journalist and TV host, Locsin also served as Congressman of Makati from 2001 to 2010. He was appointed DFA Chief last October 2018.
