MAKATI EXTENDS WORK HOURS TO PROCESS BUSINESS PERMITS

MAKATI CITY – The Makati City government has extended work hours to accommodate applications for renewal of business permits and tax payments.

Upon receiving orders from Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and other frontline offices will be open after office hours and on weekends until January 20 to process renewal applications.

Before 2018 ends, Binay had instructed the concerned offices to render overtime services for the benefit of taxpayers.

“We owe it to our taxpayers who have contributed significantly to the city’s continued financial stability and growth,” she added.

BPLO chief Maribert Pagente said the concerned offices will be open to serve taxpayers beyond office hours at the ground floor lobby of Makati City Hall Building II.

Offices will be open on January 3 and 4 until 7:30 pm while on January 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday), 8am to 5pm; January 7 to 11 (Monday to Friday), 8am to 10pm; January 12 and 13 (Saturday and Sunday), 8am to 8pm; January 14 to 18 (Monday to Friday), 8am to 10pm; and January 19 and 20 (Saturday and Sunday), 8am to 10pm.

Pagente urged business owners to beat the January 20 deadline to incurring penalties on late payments, which include a 25-percent surcharge and a two-percent penalty a month of delay until the amount due is fully paid.

Meanwhile, the Real Property Tax (RPT) Division has announced that satellite payment centers for real property taxes are scheduled to accept payments in 31 barangays, from 9am to 4pm, as follows: January 3 and 4 (Bel-Air); January 3 (Urdaneta); January 4 and 7 (Dasmariñas); January 7 (Forbes Park); January 8 and 9 (San Lorenzo, Magallanes); January 10 (Bangkal, Pio del Pilar, San Isidro, Palanan, and San Antonio); January 11 (La Paz, Sta. The RPT office at the second floor, City Hall main building will also extend work hours, but will accept payments only until 7:30pm on weekdays and until 4pm on weekends, to allow time for closing and balancing the day’s collections. From January 3 to 4, the said office will be open after regular hours from 5:30pm to 9:30pm; January 5 and 6 (weekend), from 8am to 5pm; January 7 to 11, 5:30pm to 10:30pm; January 12 and 13 (weekend), 8am to 5pm; January 14 to 18, 5:30pm to 10:30pm; and January 19 and 20 (weekend), 8am to 5pm.
