MAKATI CITY – The Makati City government hosted the Barangay San Lorenzo Business Week as part of its ongoing business literacy program for its residents, the Manila Standard reported.

The four-day event touched on Entrepreneurial Module series with lectures on Entrepreneurial Mindset by Asian Food Project president Jorge Noel Wieneke, Franchise 101 by GMB Franchise Developers president Armando Bartolome, and Digital Marketing by StartUp Village director Carlo Calimon.

The said seminar, which carried the theme “Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset,” was held to promote the spirit of enterprise within the business and residential community, said Barangay Chairman Ernesto Moya.

It commenced with a trade fair at the Glorietta Activity Center showcasing programs and products of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Science and Technology, the Asian Institute of Management, and members of the Association of the Filipino Franchisers Inc.

DTI Assistant Secretary Mary Jean Pacheco delivered her keynote speech and discussed the provisions of the newly-enacted Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

This was followed by talks from Potato Corner Chief Executive Officer Jose Magsaysay Jr. and renowned motivational speaker Francis Kong.

The Barangay San Lorenzo Business Association, the local chamber of commerce covering establishments in Legazpi Village, Ayala Center, and Arnaiz Ave. staged the event.

The group, with more than a thousand firms under its umbrella, is mandated to organize effective education and training programs for the improvement of business skills and encourage corporate social responsibility.

It serves as their channel for several business concerns through its representation in the Makati Liga ng mga Barangay Business Council.
