MANDALUYONG TO CLOSE ROADS FOR 74TH LIBERATION DAY
MANDALUYONG CITY – The Mandaluyong City government announced that certain roads will be closed to motorists for the Pasa Masid Grand Civic Parade in line with the city’s celebration of 74th Liberation Day and 25th cityhood anniversary.
Kalentong St. will be closed on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and advised motorists to avoid the parade route on Shaw Boulevard, Bonifacio, A. Luna, Aglipay, Boni Avenue and Maysilo.
Vehicles coming from Aglipay St. going to Kalentong/Shaw Boulevard may take Lubiran Bridge, right to Bagumbayan, right to P. Sanches to Shaw Boulevard.
Vehicles from New Panaderos going to Shaw Boulevard may turn left to Lubiran Bridge, right to Bagumbayan, right to P. Sanchez and straight to Shaw Boulevard.
Vehicles from San Juan going to Manila via Kalentong may turn right to Shaw Boulevard, Sevilla Bridge, left to Bagumbayan, left to Lubiran bridge.
Vehicles from EDSA/ Shaw Boulevard going to Kalentong may go straight to Sevilla Bridge, turn left to Bagumbayan, and left to Lubiran Bridge.
In 1945, the American Liberation Forces helped in the liberation of Mandaluyong which was a municipality at that time after the Japanese Imperial Forces occupied the area during World War II.
Mandaluyong became a city when former President Fidel Ramos signed Republic Act 7675 which converted Mandaluyong into a highly urbanized city on April 10, 1994.
