Manila Water Co. Inc. unveiled a partial list of most severely affected villages by the water shortage within its coverage area in March.

In a statement, Manila Water said it has already identified 44 villages in the East Zone concession area that will not be paying their entire March consumption under its one-time, voluntary bill waiver progran.

As the list of these barangays continues to be validated to ensure that only those severely affected are given the full bill waiver for their March consumption, the following areas have already been confirmed as eligible for full bill waiver:

  • Addition Hills in Mandaluyong
  • Barangka Drive in Mandaluyong
  • Plainview in Mandaluyong
  • Highway Hills in Mandaluyong
  • Hulo in Mandaluyong
  • Kapitolyo in Pasig
  • Bagong Ilog in Pasig
  • Oranbo in Pasig
  • Upper Bicutan in Taguig
  • Mambog in Binangonan

Based on initial estimate, about 152,000 households will be receiving this full waiver of their March consumption which will be reflected in the April bill.

The Ayala-led company said “there are several barangays in which only portions are eligible for the full waiver because some areas within the barangay had water supply coming from other reservoirs.”

But customers will still be able to receive a waiver for the first 10 cubic meters of their March consumption to be deducted in this month’s bill.

The full waiver, however, does not apply to any previous unpaid amount of the customer.
