MARIKINA BRINGS SHOE BAZAAR TO MUNTINLUPA
MARIKINA CITY – Manufacturers of shoes and bags in Marikina City has started the three-day Shoe Caravan in Muntinlupa City.
Located at the Muntinlupa City Hall quadrangle, the bazaar will feature 27 manufacturers with their respective products. Of the total number, 24 of them are shoemakers while three others are bag manufacturers.
“Alam ng mga taga-Muntinlupa na basta gawang Marikina, matibay at affordable talaga. Kaya naman lagi nila tayong iniimbitahan na magkaroon ng mga ganitong pagkakataong magbenta ng ating mga produkto sa Muntinlupa,” said said Noel Box, officer-in-charge of the Marikina Shoe Industry Development Office (MASIDO).
(Muntinlupa residents know that Marikina’s work is just as durable and affordable. So they always invite us to have these opportunities to sell our products in Muntinlupa.)
Prior to the caravan, Marikina manufacturers held a meeting with MASIDO last week to discuss the Shoe Caravan in Muntinlupa.
The Muntinlupa caravan comes right after the city’s manufacturers of shoes and bags held a successful Shoe Bazaar at the Freedom Park in Marikina as part of the celebration of the Sapatos Festival.
MASIDO had reported that the total sales of shoes in Marikina City rose by about 30 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
This is not the first time that Marikina manufacturers will be selling their products in Muntinlupa. Last year, Muntinlupa hosted two bazaars for Marikina manufacturers.
One was held in January and another one on May 29 to June 10 in time for the opening of classes so that parents can buy school shoes and bags for their children at affordable prices.
