MARIKINA ENFORCES RULES TO ENSURE SAFETY OF RESIDENTS
MARIKINA CITY – The Marikina City government reiterated it is strictly enforcing the ordinances aimed at ensuring the orderliness in the entire city and safety of its residents.
This includes the implementation of Section 99 of City Ordinance 133, or the Noise Pollutive Muffler series of 2006, which prohibits the use of loud mufflers and penalize violators of the local decree.
Teodoro stressed the city council crafted this ordinance to reduce the noise of the city caused by the noisy exhaust pipe to residents and possible accidents.
Motorists who are found guilty of violating the rule will be slapped with a penalty of P1,000.
Meanwhile, employees of the Office of Public Safety and Security (OPSS) are regularly inspecting motorcycles and public jeepneys in the city.
