MARIKINA LENDS A HAND TO YOUNG RESIDENTS
MARIKINA CITY – The Marikina City government provided educational assistance to young people who have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse who are in need of support.
The local government, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, extended this aid to Youth in Especially Difficult Circumstances (YEDC).
It is part of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women launched by the Philippine Commission on Women last November 15.
Republic Act 7192, or Women in Development and Nation Building Act, “recognizes the role of women in nation building and shall ensure the fundamental equality before the law of women and men. The State shall provide women rights and opportunities equal to that of men.”
