MARIKINA CITY – The Marikina City government has chalked another progress in its electrification program which aims to give every Marikina household an access to electricity.

Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro himself led the distribution of electric and building permits to some residents at the city hall.

Prior to the issuance of these documents, beneficiaries attended a seminar for a thorough discussion of the project as well as safety tips on the use of electricity courtesy of the Manila Electric Co. and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Meanwhile, the Marikina Settlement Office discussed the beautification of environment and proper disposal of garbage. It also reminded attendees to ensure that trees and plants do not block electrical wires.

The issuance of such permits is being done every Monday at the city hall as part of the local government’s Marikina Electrification Project (MCEP).

Since Teodoro initiated the project after assuming the post over two years ago, more than one thousand Marikina City residents gained from the electrification program.
