MARIKINA WANTS TO MIRROR MUNTINLUPA ENTREP PROGRAM
MUNTINLUPA CITY – The Marikina City government has expressed its interest to mirror Muntinlupa LGU’s entrepreneurship program to attract more investments in the city.
Specifically, Marikina City is seeking to implement Muntinlupa City’s Joint Resource Financing Program or Tulong Negosyo which aims to grant financial assistance to all would-be businessmen without imposing a loan interest.
Marikina Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officer Lourdes dela Paz visited Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi for a courtesy call to benchmark Muntinlupa’s programs for entrepreneurs.
Previously, Manila City conducted a benchmark visit to Muntinlupa and has adapted the JRFP Tulong Negosyo.
Recently, the local government pledged working capital worth P1.5 million as part of its zero-interest loan assistance program.
The city council, in partnership with the Gender and Development Office, gave loan assistance to 92 budding entrepreneurs from P3,000 to P75,000 during an event held at Plaza Central, Barangay Poblacion.
Muntinlupa City has been named as the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit for the second time around.
President Rodrigo Duterte handed the award to Muntinlupa City Jaime Fresnedi during the 44th Philippine Business Conference Expo of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) held at Manila Hotel.
The city government was lauded for its commendable efforts in adopting innovative best practices in good governance, partnership with the private sector benefiting business community and citizenry.
