MAYNILAD APOLOGIZES OVER PROLONGED WATER CUTS IN QC, VALENZUELA
Maynilad Water Services Inc. has apologized to residents affected by around 30-hour scheduled water cuts in Quezon City and Valenzuela City, a report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer said.
Maynilad spokesperson Grace Laxa on Monday said residents in the two cities will experience longer water interruptions beginning 10 p.m.
“Humihingi po kami na paumanhin sa mga customers naming affected pero sinisiguro namin na mag-iimprove ang ating serbisyo,” Laxa said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM.
(We would like to apologize to customers to be affected by this scheduled interruption but rest assured we are improving our services.)
“Bagong latag po ang ating mga linya, so syempre mas efficient po ang ating mga tubig natin, ‘yung supply natin (We have just laid our pipes for a more efficient water supply),” she added.
Standby tankers will be deployed to assist affected residents.
The affected barangays are Nagkaisang Nayon, Gulod, North Fairview, Greater Fairview, Holy Spirit, Bagong Silangan, San Bartolome, Bagbag, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Monica, Sauyo, and Talipapa.
Maynilad said affected residents of these areas have been advised to store enough water that they can use for the duration of the repair and maintenance activities.
Customers may also encounter delay in the resumption of their water service due to several factors such as their area’s elevation, the distance from the pumping stations, and the volume withdrawal from the mainlines.
