MUNTINLUPA CITY – The Muntinlupa City government has distributed free school uniforms and supplies to at least 48,000 public elementary students in the city.
Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the distribution of school items to students of Muntinlupa Elementary School in Barangay Poblacion during the opening ceremony of classes on Monday.
The local government prioritizes programs for education and pioneers in one of the most comprehensive scholarship programs in the country.
Currently, there are more than 68,000 scholars in Muntinlupa City from elementary to college, including those in tech-voc courses, graduate, medical, and law schools.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture is holding TienDA Plus Metrowide Mango Festival at the Muntinlupa City Hall.
The booth is open to the public until Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. where they can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, and other agricultural and fishery products from different farms nationwide sold at farm gate prices.
For instance, a kilo of rice is being sold at P36 per kilo.
This new marketing scheme ensures that farmers’ products can be directly sold to the consumers in urban areas without the intervention of middlemen. JL | LON
