NATIONAL MUSEUM CELEBRATES WOMEN’S MONTH WITH FREE PLANETARIUM SHOWS
MANILA CITY – The National Museum of the Philippines is giving free Planetarium shows for women visitors this Friday, coinciding with the celebration of the International Women’s Day.
Those who intend to make reservations for the free planetarium show can send an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at (02) 527-7889.
Aside from that, museum will launch on Monday the “Name that Space Girl” online contest. Interested individuals can submit their entries from March 11 to 18. Winners will be announced on March 25.
National Museum will also hold various events in line with the month-long celebration of Women’s Month.
The ‘Hibla ng Launching Filipino Travelling Exhibition Lecture and Embassy Workshops’ will be held on March 8 and 22, 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Reception Room of the National Museum of Anthropology.
The same event will be held in Japan with an opening reception on March 8, 3:00 p.m. at the Siazon Hall, Embassy of the Philippines in Tokyo.
The lecture series and weaving demonstration will be conducted on March 9-13, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., while public viewing will be held on March 9-31, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
It also presents ‘Women Weavers in the Region,’ Lectures and Demonstrations will be held in Ilocos, Cordillera and in Western Visayas.
The event will take place on March 9 and 10, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 nn and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the event will be held at the North Wing Function Room, Old Provincial Jail, Ilocos Regional Museum Complex in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
In Cordillera, the event will occur on March 16-17, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Left Wing Galleries of the Ifugao Museum in Kiangan, Ifugao.
Likewise, the event in Western Visayas will be held on March 23-24, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gallery 3 of the National Museum for Western Visayas, Capitol Compound in Iloilo City.
In Manila, the Story Stones Painting Workshop for Women will be held on March 20, 9:00am to 4:00pm at the BDO East Function Hall of the National Museum of Natural History.
Dr. Reina Reyes will discuss ‘Women Leadership Program: A Filipina Scientist’s Journey’ at the auditorium of the National Planetarium on March 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn.
Also, a lecture on Women in the Field of Herbal Medicine will take place at the Vergara and Co Rooms of the National Museum of Natural History on March 28, 9:00am to 12:00 nn.
Meanwhile, artist Impy Pilapil will feature a special exhibit dubbed “Earth Cycles.” An artist walkthrough will be held on March 28 at 4:00pm. It is open to the public on March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Gallery XVII of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
