NGCP CONTINUES THRUST FOR EDUCATIONAL GROWTH OF UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH

NGCP President Anthony L. Almeda (3rd from right) signs a Memorandum of Agreement with Dualtech Training Center in order to provide scholarship opportunities for underprivileged youth.

Under the agreement, NGCP will provide for the needs of ten (10) chosen scholars who will undergo a specially-designed training course by Dualtech, including tuition fees, board and lodging, and miscellaneous fees.

In its continued thrust to empower the less fortunate and enable a brighter future for the next generation, transmission service provider NGCP partnered with Dualtech Training Center in providing scholarship opportunities for underprivileged youth.

Under a Memorandum of Agreement signed between officials of NGCP and Dualtech, NGCP will provide for the needs of ten (10) chosen scholars who will undergo a specially-designed training course by Dualtech, including tuition fees, board and lodging, and miscellaneous fees.

These scholars will undergo a six-month electromechanics technology course which will teach them current technologies and how to apply these in real-life scenarios. This will also open more opportunities for learning in operating electromechanical machines and other latest innovations in electronics.

“One of NGCP’s advocacies is in the area of education. We believe in its power to link the youth towards a brighter future,” stated NGCP. “It is our hope that by the end of the course, we have made a substantial contribution to these students and to their communities,” added the company.

Dualtech is a private vocational school established in 1982 which adopts a German teaching model of training students in real-life scenarios. Its advocacy of training young people from marginalized sectors, an initiative in line with NGCP’s thrust of strengthening the nation through empowering the youth and enabling more opportunities to grow, became one of the factors that made the partnership with NGCP possible.

“We are very happy to partner with DualTech as we hope to bridge the gap between underprivileged but deserving young students and quality training and education which will equip them with new skills and knowledge,” said NGCP.

Besides its advocacy for education through providing scholarships, NGCP’s advocacies also cover strengthening local industries such as weaving, environmental preservation efforts for ecosystems and wildlife, disaster preparedness training for disaster-prone communities, and medical-dental missions across the country.

NGCP is a Filipino-led, privately owned company in charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the country’s power grid, led by majority shareholders Henry Sy, Jr. and Robert Coyiuto, Jr.
