CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija -- At least 20 local businesses, offering a long line of products from food to clothing, have opened shops for the week-long Likhang Novo Ecija Trade Fair at SM Megacenter here.

Provincial Director Brigida Pili of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Nueva Ecija said the trade fair that formally opened Monday is a "marketing activity of DTI Nueva Ecija jointly organized by the SM Megacenter and Provincial Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (PSMEDC).

This, she said, was aimed at promoting locally crafted products, including food, clothing, home decors and agricultural products.

She asked mall goers to patronize local products.

"Bawat piso na ibibili natin ay makatutulong sa paglago ng ating mga lokal na negosyo (Every peso that we use to buy products could help grow the local businesses)," she said.

On top of on the spot sales, Pili said that participants may generate income from huge orders during trade fairs.

The trade fair will run until May 26. (PNA)
