KIDAPAWAN CITY – More than 200 pregnant women from the city’s 40 villages have availed of maternity check-up services offered during the “Buntis Caravan” here Wednesday.

Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the program was a joint project of the city government and the “With Love Jan Foundation Incorporated” as part of the Women’s Month celebration.

“The objective of the caravan is to ensure all pregnant women are getting the needed health services provided by the Department of Health,” he said.

Part of the program provided expectant mothers with various tips on how to have smooth child delivery minus complications.

Among the services offered were ultrasound, blood extraction, urinalysis, laboratory, dental services, and comprehensive pre-natal check-ups. Evangelista said mothers and pregnant women alike also received personal hygiene kits like disinfectant, diapers, and toothpaste.

Many of the beneficiaries were from far-flung Barangays Magsaysay, Kalaisan, Singao, Balindog, Macebolig, Sumbac, Junction and Amazon.

Evangelista said similar caravans are scheduled for the city this year.
