P270K ‘SHABU’ SEIZED, 5 SUSPECTS NABBED IN NEGOCC



BACOLOD CITY — A total of PHP270,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from five suspects during buy-bust operations in three cities of Negros Occidental in the last two days, police reports showed.

In Kabankalan, Stephen Vidaure, 25, a street-level target, was arrested in Purok Uhaw, Barangay 4 At about 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

Vidaure, who sold PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman, initially resisted arrest, but he was cornered and yielded seven more small sachets valued at PHP15,000.

Also found in his possession were 10 live ammunition for a 9-mm. caliber pistol, PHP2,398 in cash and a mobile phone, among others.

In Silay, Arjie Barcillo, 38, was arrested in Buenavista Subdivision, Barangay Guinhalaran at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Barcillo, who is on the drug target list of the Silay City Police, yielded suspected shabu with an estimated market value of PHP60,000.

Meanwhile, newly-identified drug personality Ernie Olido, 28, was arrested after he was caught buying the prohibited substance from Charlito Sayon at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, this city, at about 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Sayon, who also sold suspected shabu to an undercover policeman, however, evaded arrest during the operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 2.

Still, the operatives seized two big and one elongated sachet of suspected shabu valued at PHP145,000 inside the house where the buy-bust took place.

On the other hand, John Mark Cabanag, 21, also a newly-identified drug personality, was apprehended by operatives of Police Station 8 at Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang-Airport around 11:55 p.m. on Monday.

The suspect, who sold a small sachet worth PHP500 to a police poseur-buyer, also yielded one big and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP50,000.

The three suspects are facing charges for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
