PASAY CITY – Drivers of public utility vehicles were caught by surprise as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency suddenly subjected them to a mandatory drug test in Pasay City, a report by GMA News Online said.

PDEA personnel commenced the surprise drug test at the Pasay-Rotonda area and then proceeded to the Mall of Asia Terminal.

PDEA chief Aaron Aquino arrived at the MOA terminal to personally lead the mandatory drug testing as part of the agency’s anti-narcotic drive called Oplan Harabas.

Based on the results, none of the initial 30 jeepney and tricycle drivers were tested positive for drug use.

PUV drivers are looking forward to receiving the certification from PDEA stating they are free of illegal drug abuse as this could clear the ranks of drivers who have been addicted to the illegal substance.
