PDEA UPROOTS MARIJUANA, NABS 2 PLANTERS IN DAVOR OPS
DAVAO CITY — Around 10,500 hills (seeds or plants planted in a group) sown with marijuana worth more than PHP2 million were seized in an operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-11 on Saturday in Sitio Pagkawian, Barangay Tobaon, Tarragona, Davao Oriental.
PDEA-11 Director Antonio Rivera said Sunday the operation also resulted in the arrest of two alleged planters.
Rivera identified the arrested persons as Vincent Adjadan Lintuan and Romel Basog Adjadan (HVT), who are both considered high-value targets.
The two other suspects, identified as Merlindo Malintad and Gil Sugaan, were able to elude arrest during the operation launched by PDEA-11 Seaport Interdiction Unit, the Tarragona police, Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Davao Oriental provincial force company, and provincial Intelligence Division.
“Nakita nila nga naay tropa paabot mao nakasibat sila (They saw the troops so they were able to escape),” he added.
Rivera said the arrested persons are now detained at the PDEA Davao Oriental holding facility and both will be facing cases for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
