Mayor Herbert M. Bautista receives the Global Human Settlements Model of Community award for Bistekville Socialized Housing during the Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bistekville, named after Mayor Bautista is Quezon City’s community housing project. Launched in 2011, the project aims to provide housing to homeless and low income families.

“The problem of poverty and informal settlements in Quezon City is huge. But, we can help make this challenge manageable through the pathways of collaboration and teamwork among ourselves,” the mayor said.

“Bistekville is home sweet home,” he said during the launch several years ago.

As this developed, the Quezon City Health Department’s program implementation was recently recognized by the Department of Health.

The Quezon City Health Department earned recognition for the implementation of the: National Safe Motherhood Program, Family Planning Program, Adolescent Health and Development Program and Nutrition Program.
