A wild fire broke out on the slopes of Mount Cristobal in Laguna on Sunday morning and the fire continued to rage until the late afternoon, San Pablo City's fire officials reported.
According to the Laguna Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, the fire broke out early in the morning but the incident was reported only at past 11 a.m.
Fire spread quickly because of the effects of the extended dry spell and the strong winds in the area made, devouring vegetation areas on the mountain.
The firefighters of the place as of past 4 p.m. had not yet figured out a way to quench the fire as there were no roads going to the fire-affected mountain slopes.
Authorities said there is still no way of determining the cause of the fire, the extent of its damage so far, and how to begin putting out the blaze. (With reports from GMA News)
