CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The SM Foundation turned over a new building to the Telabastagan Integrated School here on Friday.

The two-storey, four-classroom school building was donated by the SM Prime Holdings, Inc. through SM Foundation and in partnership with Bata Children’s Program Foundation.

SM Foundation School Building Program head Juris Umali-Soliman said that since 2002, SM has built 91 school buildings nationwide and conducts repair to these buildings every five years.

“In the City of San Fernando, this is the first school building project donated by SM, and this is also the first project that we partnered with Bata Children’s Program Foundation for and we’re looking forward to the next project in other schools,” she said in an interview.

The construction of the new school building took five months. The facility has 200 armchairs, four sets of teacher’s table/chair, 16 wall fans, eight blackboards, four wall clocks and four toilets.

Mayor Edwin Santiago expressed his gratitude to the SM Foundation and Bata Children’s Program Foundation for choosing the city as their beneficiary in their school building program.

He reiterated that the local government will remain steadfast in delivering good quality education to the Fernandino students.

“Magandang edukasyon, iyan ang isinusulong ng Syudad San Fernando, kung kaya’t sinisiguro namin na maibibigay namin ang lahat ng pangangailangan ng mga mag-aaral upang makamit nila ito. Isa na rito ang maayos at magandang classroom, salamat sa SM Foundation sa pakikiisa sa amin sa paghahatid ng dekalidad na edukasyon sa bawat Fernandino(Good education, that is what San Fernando City is promoting. Thus, we make sure we can provide all the needs of the students so they can achieve it. These include good and nice classrooms. Thanks to the SM Foundation in working with us to deliver quality education to every Fernandino),” the mayor said. (PNA)
