PASIG CITY – Pasig City Mayor-elect Vico Sotto has meet with outgoing Mayor Robert “Bobby” Eusebio amid the electoral protest filed by his predecessor.

In a Facebook post, Sotto expressed his gratitude to the incumbent mayor and his department heads led by City Administrator Dianeth Valencia for making the first meeting between their transition teams possible.

“Change is usually uncomfortable, even painful. But let's all do our best to transition smoothly into a new city administration,” Sotto said on Thursday.

“Paalala lang po sa lahat: patuloy po nating galangin at respetuhin ang kasalukuyang administrasyon dahil sila pa rin po ang may awtoridad hanggang June 30,” he added.

To recall, Sotto ended the 27-year reign of the Eusebio clan in the midterm elections after garnering 205,830 votes against Eusebio’s 119,222 votes.

However, the result of midterm polls in Pasig City failed to halt Eusebio from filing an electoral protest on the grounds of cheating.

But Sotto sought to have the electoral protest dismissed as it was insufficient in form and content since it did not outline the acts or omissions complained.(JL/LON)
